The Nicolaas Westerhof Award
The winner of the Nico Westerhof Award is selected on the basis of the abstract sent in for the competition and the presentation at the conference. Selection criteria are:
- the contestant is junior investigator, up to and including post-docs,
- the proposal shows striking innovative concept (‘why didn’t I think of that?’),
- the presented concept lies in the field of biophysics of heart and circulation.
The Scientific Committee will judge the abstracts and the presentation on basis of the above criteria and will choose the winner at conference. The award consists of € 500 and a sculpture that symbolizes cooperation, the infinity of the circulation and stimulates innovation in field of hemodynamic and cardiovascular research.
The Jan Beneken Award
The Jan Beneken Award is an award named after Jan Beneken, former professor at Eindhoven University and catalyst of many of the mathematical models of human physiology still in use today.
The winner is selected on the basis of the abstract submitted to the conference and the presentation at the conference. Selection criteria are:
- open to any researcher (assistant professor/scientist and up) submitting an abstract to the conference
The Scientific Committee of the AMAC will judge the abstracts and the presentations on the basis of the above criteria and will the winner at the conference. The award amounts € 500 and a certificate.
